Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to oversee after-school and day camp programs in Katy, Conroe, and Humble ISD locations. You’ll bring energy, creativity, and compassion to create a safe, engaging environment where youth feel supported and valued.

You’ll lead fun activities, reinforce positive behavior, and build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and teammates while modeling YMCA values and upholding licensing standards.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of youth experience in a licensed setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and required immunizations per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth.
• Lead age-appropriate activities and games with positive behavior guidance.
• Monitor safety, headcounts, and supervision per YMCA policies.
• Build strong relationships with youth, families, staff, and schools.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized space.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
