Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to support before/after school and day camp programs in Katy ISD, Conroe ISD, and Humble ISD. You’ll create a safe, engaging environment, plan age-appropriate activities, and model YMCA values while building relationships with youth and families.

Responsibilities include supervising groups, maintaining sign-in procedures, and collaborating with staff to deliver a quality program.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Six months of experience working with youth in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment where youth feel supported and valued.
• Keep children safe, engaged, and accounted for at all times with proper supervision.
• Lead games, projects, and hands-on activities aligned with YMCA curriculum.
• Model YMCA values and be a positive role model for children.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe program space; meet licensing standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA teammates.
• Follow child-protection policies and maintain sign-in/out procedures.
