Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader to inspire children and families in Katy, Texas. This role focuses on creating a safe, fun, and enriching environment for youth during before/after-school and day camp programs.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, experience with youth, and the ability to lead engaging activities. The position offers flexible schedules, professional development opportunities, and a chance to make a lasting community impact.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Six months of experience working with youth.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks.

Responsibilities

• Keep children safe, engaged, and accounted for at all times.
• Foster a welcoming, inclusive environment using positive behavior techniques.
• Bring the YMCA curriculum to life through games and projects.
• Demonstrate honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, and faith.
• Help maintain a clean and organized program space.
• Connect with children, families, and staff to create a positive community.
• Follow all child-protection policies.
