Job summary

YMCA of Greater Houston seeks a Youth Development Leader to support before/after-school and day camp programs. You’ll create a safe, engaging environment, lead activities, and build trusting relationships with youth and families.

Role emphasizes safety, inclusivity, and alignment with YMCA values. Part-time schedule for after-school shifts and day camp opportunities may arise, with training and growth paths available.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of experience with youth in a licensed facility or school preferred.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain) required.
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and supervision of children at all times.
• Foster positive behavior and inclusive environment.
• Lead engaging activities and adapt to diverse needs.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring, faith.
• Maintain program space, sign-in/out procedures, and compliance with policies.
