Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Houston is seeking a Youth Development Leader in Texas to support before/after school and day camp programs. You will help create a safe, engaging environment where children grow and learn, while building positive relationships with families and staff.

Responsibilities include supervising activities, modeling YMCA values, and coordinating program operations. The role is part-time with shifts aligned to school calendars, offering growth opportunities within a mission-driven

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of youth experience in a licensed facility, school, church, or similar setting.
• CPR, First Aid, AED, and Child Abuse Prevention training (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate activities.
• Experience working with diverse populations.
• Ability to pass state/local background checks and fingerprinting.
• TB test and any required immunizations per state/local guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Lead before/after school and day camp programs with energy, creativity and compassion.
• Create a safe, fun, and enriching environment where youth feel supported and valued.
• Monitor safety and supervision; follow YMCA policies and training.
• Lead activities and adapt them to the diverse needs and interests of every child.
• Model YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith.
• Support daily operations and maintain a clean, organized space meeting standards.
• Build strong relationships with children, families, school staff, and YMCA team.
