Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine seeks a care coordinator to support the physician office, handling registrations, charting, and patient flow. You will greet patients, record vitals, and ensure clinical notes and tests are available for the physician.

The role requires 1–2 years in a medical setting, strong communication, and organizational skills. Work involves HIPAA-compliant patient handling and collaboration with the care team to deliver a superior patient experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree a plus.
• 1-2 years medical setting experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform clerical and customer service functions for the physician's office.
• Register new patients in EMR prior to scheduling appointments.
• Ensure physicians have initial consultations, notes, labs, and reports.
• Open chart encounters in AthenaOne and maintain patient records.
• Greet and room patients and take vitals for physician review.
• Enter orders and E-Prescribe information; create visit summaries.
• Schedule follow-up appointments and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
• Provide coverage to other positions as requested.
