Job summary

Barrow Brain and Spine is seeking a patient-oriented coordinator to support front-desk and clinical operations in Phoenix, AZ. You will register patients, ensure physician readiness, and maintain accurate records in AthenaOne while delivering exceptional patient care.

The role requires 1-2 years in a medical setting, strong communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering a superior patient experience and supporting the care team.

Responsibilities

• Registers new patients in the EMR prior to scheduling appointments.
• Ensures all initial consultations, notes, lab slips, radiology and pathology are available to the physician.
• Opens chart encounters in AthenaOne and maintains patient records for reference.
• Greet and room patients to facilitate clinic flow.
• Take vitals and record assessments in the patient chart.
• Enter orders and E-Prescribe information and create visit summaries.
• Schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
• Coordinate with physician staff to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain clinic room inventories and restock as necessary.
• Assist with daily clinic operations under supervision.
• Assist recall lists, diagnostic reviews, and follow up on non-compliant orders.
• Obtain authorizations for imaging and testing when required.
• Screen calls and schedule referrals and visits for various services.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
• Coordinate surgery-related scheduling with billing, authorizations, and FMLA paperwork.
• Participate in continuing education and cross-train as needed.
• Provide coverage to other positions as requested.
• Represent the practice with exemplary customer service.
