Job summary

Build‑A‑Bear Workshop, Inc. in Aurora, IL, is seeking a Full-Time Store Manager for Fox Valley Mall. You will lead a high‑performing team, drive guest experience, manage payroll and scheduling, and ensure brand standards and safety policies are followed.

You will make hiring decisions, develop staff with the AWM, and maintain inventory, merchandising, and store operations. A strong customer‑centric mindset and 2+ years in leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience using store technology solutions (POS, scheduling, HRIS, time and attendance).
• Preferred: 2–4 years of store management experience; degree in business/management is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Drive sales and team performance by coaching AWMs, SLs, and Bear Builders to deliver a Guest experience aligned with Experience First culture.
• Create weekly schedules and assign daily tasks with the AWM's assistance; manage breaks and priorities.
• Make hiring and promotion decisions with input from the AWM; escalate as needed to HR/DM.
• Lead the team during shifts; enforce policies and safety; protect store assets and product confidentiality.
• Oversee merchandising displays, inventory receiving, stocking, and counts.
