Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop in Knoxville seeks an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in daily operations and guest service excellence. You will help manage staff, drive sales, and implement marketing strategies while maintaining a safe, inviting workshop environment.

You will lead shifts, coach team members, and ensure adherence to policies and brand standards, contributing to a positive Guest experience and strong store performance.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in a customer-centric retail environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of POS, scheduling, HRIS, and time & attendance systems.
• Preferred: 2–4 years store management; Associate's degree in business or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager in determining associates' daily assignments and directing work, including break schedules and priorities.
• Assist in hiring and promotion decisions, providing feedback and candidate recommendations.
• Lead and inspire the team during shifts, enforcing policies and ensuring safety and conduct.
• Drive sales as Floor Leader by coaching Bear Builders and creating a Guest experience aligned with Experience First.
• Ensure merchandising displays follow brand standards and create an inviting store environment.
• Oversee inventory processes including receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Build and develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional Guest experiences.
