Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in all aspects of store operations, ensuring excellent Guest service and effective execution of sales and marketing strategies.

You will assist in staffing, scheduling, training and leading the team, driving the Experience First culture, and upholding brand standards across merchandising, safety, and cash handling. The role emphasizes leadership, accountability, and delivering a positive Guest experience.

Qualifications

• 2 years of store management experience in a customer-centric business.
• High school diploma is required.
• Familiarity with POS, scheduling, HRIS and time/attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager in directing daily assignments and schedules for associates.
• Assist in hiring and promotion decisions and provide feedback on staff advancement.
• Lead and motivate the team during shifts, enforce policies, and ensure security and cash handling procedures.
• Drive sales by coaching staff and delivering an Experience First guest experience.
• Ensure merchandising displays align with brand standards and maintain a cohesive store environment.
• Oversee inventory reception, stocking, and counts.
• Contribute to building a high-performing team delivering exceptional guest experiences.
