Job summary

Build-A-Bear Workshop is seeking an Assistant Workshop Manager to support the store manager in daily operations, guest service, staff management, and sales execution.

You will lead shifts, coach Bear Builders, supervise inventory, and ensure brand standards while delivering an engaging Experience First guest experience at the workshop.

Strong communication and leadership are essential to motivate a high-energy team in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of store management in a customer-centric retail setting.
• High school diploma required.
• Basic familiarity with POS, scheduling, HRIS, and attendance systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Workshop Manager with daily assignments and lead shifts.
• Participate in hiring, promotions, and providing feedback on staff.
• Lead and coach teams to deliver the Experience First guest experience.
• Maintain brand standards for displays and store layout.
• Oversee inventory receiving, stocking, and counts.
• Develop a high-performing team delivering exceptional guest service.
• Ensure safety, policy adherence, and operational efficiency.
