Job summary

Career Team in Merced, CA seeks a dynamic Team Lead to guide Career Advisors serving WIOA Adult and Dislocated Workers and connect job seekers to quality jobs across Merced County, CA. Work will be performed under the WIOA program umbrella in Atwater and Los Banos counties.

The Team Lead provides oversight, approves enrollments and funding requests, coaches staff, and reports monthly. 100% onsite, with background checks and community partnerships integral to success.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of WIOA and workforce development contracts/programs.
• Ability to give presentations and workshops (public speaking).
• Demonstrated attention to detail to meet program requirements.
• One year of experience working with unemployed and underemployed individuals.
• Exceptional time management skills to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of Career Advisors staff in an integrated service delivery model.
• Assess, manage, and maintain a caseload of new customers and carryover participants; track progress monthly.
• Develop and implement casework service plans for complex cases and assist Career Advisors.
• Develop strategies to focus on performance objectives in daily operations.
• Help drive customer success and positive outcomes for contractual measures.
• Provide training and career coaching on assessments to align with local business needs.
• Prepare and present reports of activities and accomplishments.
• Build partnerships with community organizations for outreach and engagement in WIOA programs.
• Support Career Advisors in the community to ensure connectivity and strong partnerships.
• Ensure compliance and data tracking for outreach and funding initiatives.
• Provide staff development, coaching, and training; conduct staff evaluations.
• Lead and direct to maximize performance forecasting and financial sustainability.
• Collaborate with QA and leadership to improve processes and culture.
• Support Executive Director in day-to-day operations and program development.
• Approach tasks with a proactive ‘ZAG’ mindset.
