Job summary

Career Team in Ventura, CA seeks a Project Director to oversee staff, programs, and the strategic plan within WIOA Title 1, Adult and Dislocated Worker programs. The role is 100% onsite at the listed location, managing complex grants including RERP and HUD-CDBG, and ensuring programmatic performance and compliance.

You will lead staff, manage budgets, coordinate with the Workforce Board, and drive continuous improvement with a focus on effective service delivery and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, or community organization or development.
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
• Knowledge of local region and partners.
• 5+ years in operations or project management, 3+ years in workforce/WIOA.
• 5+ years in business, marketing, public relations, education, or workforce development services.
• Experience hiring, recruiting, and managing staff; budgeting and funds leveraging.
• Strong data management, reporting, and quality assurance abilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to execute program initiatives and staff development.
• Ensure compliance with contract requirements and policies.
• Oversee budgeting, expenditures, and revenue management.
• Coordinate planning for policies and procedures for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with the local Workforce Board to meet regional needs.
• Serve as primary liaison and funding source contact for local contracts.
• Develop strategies to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
