Qualifications

  • GS09 requires 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, performing FECA-related duties.
  • GS11 requires 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, performing FECA-related duties.
  • Education substitutions allow advanced degrees to substitute for experience as described (MS or PhD or JD/LLB).

Responsibilities

  • Managing workers' compensation cases: documentation, filing, and record maintenance.
  • Monitor case status, update plans of action, and ensure FECA/DOL compliance.
  • Serve as a technical resource on workers' compensation rights, responsibilities, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with claim development, return-to-work considerations, and timely payment of benefits.
  • Prepare responses to Department of Labor correspondence and hearings.

Education

Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
