Job summary

Holmes Murphy’s Creative Risk Solutions team seeks a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to manage claim intake, investigation, and resolution for lost time claims across multiple jurisdictions. You’ll work with insureds, claimants, and staff to ensure accurate processing and timely payments.

A high school diploma is required (college degree preferred) with 3–5 years WC claims experience; active state license or ability to obtain within three months is expected.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma; college degree preferred.
• Experience: 3-5 years claims experience with strong background in Workers’ Compensation claims handling.
• Licensing: Active state specific Workers Compensation License required or ability to acquire license within three months of hire.
• Skills: Proficient knowledge of Workers’ Compensation insurance coverage and claims processing; adjudicate lost time claims across multiple jurisdictions.
• Technical Competencies: Strong grasp of claims principles, practices, and insurance coverage interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Receives, gathers and transmits workers’ compensation information from insured, claimants and staff.
• Investigates, evaluates, and resolves lost time Workers’ Compensation claims, including litigated claims.
• Mediates between insured and insurer, researching coverage issues.
• Enters and maintains accurate information on claim systems, including final settlements.
• Generates checks for indemnity and medical payments daily.
• Develops and monitors consistency in claims handling procedures within CRS.
• Willingness to become licensed if required in jurisdiction where claims are handled.
