Job summary

Holmes Murphy’s Creative Risk Solutions is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist to join our team in West Des Moines, IA. You will handle claims from intake to resolution, collaborating with insureds, claimants and internal staff.

The role emphasizes timely data transmission, investigation of lost time claims, and ensuring accurate documentation. Licensure within jurisdiction and a strong background in WC claims are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years claims experience with strong background in Workers’ Compensation claims handling.
• Active state specific Workers' Compensation license or ability to obtain within 3 months.
• Proficient knowledge of WC claims processing and coverage interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Receives, gathers and transmits workers’ compensation information in a timely manner.
• Investigates, evaluates, and resolves lost time WC claims, including litigated claims.
• Mediates between insured and insurer, researching coverage issues.
• Enters and maintains accurate information in the claims system, including settlements.
• Generates checks for indemnity and medical payments daily.
• Develops and monitors consistency in CRS claims handling procedures.
• Willingness to become licensed if required in jurisdiction.
