Job summary

Highmark Health is seeking an HRIS Consultant to serve as the functional architect and implementation lead for Workday and connected HR technology. The role focuses on Workday HCM, core HCM, security, data structures, and cross‑module dependencies across UKG and Salesforce integrations.

The person will mentor HRIS analysts, establish design standards, and guide complex configurations while coordinating with HR, IT, and external partners to deliver scalable solutions and a multi-year HR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in HR, IS, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years in HRIS, HR tech, or enterprise HCM systems
• 5+ years hands-on Workday HCM experience (config, security, data structures)
• Experience leading full-cycle Workday implementations or major deployments
• Experience as Workday functional lead translating complex requirements into designs
• Knowledge of HR integrations, data mapping, governance, and dependencies
• Experience mentoring HRIS analysts and providing technical direction
• Strong written and verbal communication with leadership and stakeholders
• Experience in consulting or large complex organizations translating requirements to scalable Workday solutions

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise HR technology implementations from design to go-live and hyper care
• Define scalable Workday solution designs and data governance across platforms
• Serve as senior Workday HCM expert for Core HCM, business processes, security, and data structures
• Translate complex needs into documented functional requirements and configs
• Review and approve complex Workday configurations and provide hands-on support
• Mentor HRIS analysts on configuration standards and problem solving
• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, IT, Security, and Compliance to balance UX and risk
• Develop multi-year HR tech roadmap aligned to strategy and regulatory needs
• Lead testing strategy and cross-functional validation across releases
• Evaluate emerging HR tech and build business cases for investments
• Perform other duties as assigned
