Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to oversee onsite operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at a wind-powered generation plant under the guidance of the Plant Manager.

The role requires reading schematics, diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults, performing repairs per OEM manuals, and supporting safety and environmental programs. Expect 10–15% travel, overtime on holidays and weekends, and occasional site switching.

Qualifications

• Requires 1 year college/technical certificate or 12 months related experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily to perform maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Perform repairs or replacements per manufacturers' specifications.
• Comply with environmental, health and safety programs; perform preventive maintenance.
• Submit QA/QC documentation and reports; support construction walk-downs if applicable.
