Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to oversee on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacement at a wind power plant. Role involves reading schematics, troubleshooting complex mechanical/electrical/hydraulic issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and OEM guidelines.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, data reporting, retrofits, and QA/QC tasks. Travel to other sites (10–15%) and on-call duties may be required.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets, email, and control/reporting systems.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily to perform maintenance in the nacelle and hub.
• Demonstrated teamwork, initiative and positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components per OEM guidelines.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Meet wind plant reporting requirements with data collection and reporting.
• Perform QA/QC tasks and assist Construction during walk-downs if needed.
• Travel to other sites as required (about 10–15% on average).
• Work overtime on holidays, weekends, and on short notice on-call.
