Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to perform onsite operations, maintenance, repairs and equipment replacement at a wind-powered plant. The role leads in plant operations under the direction of the Plant Manager.

The position requires climbing tall towers, handling electrical/mechanical issues, and performing data collection for reporting. DOE determines tech level; benefits include health, vision, tuition reimbursement, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical certificate, or 12 months related wind experience.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily.
• Experience with maintenance and electrical testing equipment.
• Strong computer skills for reporting and diagnostics.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Weight must not exceed 285lbs excluding equipment/gear.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Repair or replace faulty components following OEM specs.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Collect data and prepare wind plant reports.
• Support construction in walk-downs if applicable.
• Travel up to 10–15% and work overtime on holidays and weekends.
