Job summary

Avangrid Power seeks a Wind Turbine Technician to oversee onsite operations, maintenance, and repairs at a wind-powered generation plant. The role leads in plant operations under the Plant Manager, with the level determined by experience and education.

Responsibilities include maintaining turbine equipment, troubleshooting complex mechanical/electrical issues, and performing preventive maintenance per OEM manuals. Travel up to 10–15% may be required, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate or 12 months wind industry experience
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment
• Advanced computer skills using word processing, spreadsheets, email, and reporting systems
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily
• Must lift up to 60–100 pounds
• Ability to work with electrical wires and interpret instructions

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues from schematics
• Perform repairs with OEM guidance and safety standards
• Conduct preventive maintenance per OEM manuals
• Prepare reports to meet wind plant requirements
• Support construction walkthroughs as needed
• Participate in QA/QC and retrofits as required
