Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to perform on-site operations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacement at a wind-powered generation plant. The role leads plant operations under the Plant Manager's direction.

Candidates should have at least a year of technical schooling or wind industry training, readiness to climb towers up to 100 meters, and travel 10–15% to other sites. Overtime and on-call duties may apply.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical certificate or wind industry training.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily and lift up to 100 pounds.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electrical testing equipment (voltage testers, clamps, scopes).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Repair or replace components per OEM requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Adhere to safety programs and internal controls.
• Carry out QA/QC tasks and data reporting for wind plant operations.
• Support construction in mechanical and commissioning walk-downs when applicable.
• Travel to other sites (10–15%) and work overtime on holidays/weekends.
