Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to lead onsite operations, maintenance, and repairs at a wind-powered generation plant. You will read schematics, troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with variable pitch and speed controls, and perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.

The role requires climbing towers up to 100 meters, lifting up to 60-100 lbs, and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills utilizing word processing, spreadsheets, email, facility control, management and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems with variable pitch and variable speed systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and install repairs as needed.
• Adhere to safety programs and internal controls; collect data and prepare reports.
