Job summary

Avangrid Power seeks a skilled technician to operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure. You will read schematics, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with variable pitch and speed controls, and perform repairs following OEM requirements.

The role requires climbing towers up to 100 meters daily, lifting up to 60–100 lbs, and complying with safety programs. Occasional travel and overtime may be required; strong teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience or wind industry training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; High School Diploma or GED.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment (voltage testers, clamp meters, scopes, etc.).
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily for nacelle and hub maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems with variable pitch and speed controls.
• Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components per OEM requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Collect data and prepare reports for wind plant reporting.
