Avangrid Power seeks a Wind Turbine Technician I to perform on-site maintenance, operation, and repairs of wind turbine equipment and infrastructure at Hertford, NC. Responsibilities include reading schematics, diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues, and executing OEM-guided repairs while adhering to safety standards.

The role requires climbing towers, handling heavy equipment, and occasional travel to other sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent; 1 year college/technical certificate or wind industry training.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Strong computer skills with reporting systems.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and site infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Perform repairs or replacements per OEM specs and safety rules.
• Conduct preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Collect data and prepare reports for wind plant operations.
