Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician responsible for onsite operations, maintenance, repairs, and equipment replacement at a wind-powered generation plant. The role requires reading schematics, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Willingness to travel 10–15% and overtime on holidays and weekends is expected. The position entails data collection, reporting, and supporting QA/QC actions, with a focus on reliable wind

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 1 year of college/technical schooling or wind industry training preferred.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, email, and reporting systems.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily for nacelle/hub maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work with electrical wires and distinguish color-coded wires.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with pitch/speed control systems.
• Repair or replace faulty components following OEM requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Prepare reports and collect data for wind plant reporting.
• Assist with retrofits, QA/QC, and support construction walk-downs.
