Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Tiger Team Technician II for its wind operations. This field-based role supports regional O&M, performing generator bearing exchanges, gearbox work, pitch ram exchanges, yaw drive work, troubleshooting, and safety trainings.

You will lead, guide, and coordinate with the O&M team and ensure tool/equipment readiness. You will travel up to 50% of the time, climb wind towers daily, and perform maintenance on turbines while following safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Wind Technology and/or Mechanical preferred.
• Global Wind Organization Certification preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in Wind, Solar, or BESS.
• Alternatively, 2- or 4-year degree with journeyman/master electrician license.
• Unrestricted driver license in good standing.
• Willing to relocate within 1 hour of site.
• Proficient with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of environmental and safety policies.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities are performed safely per site policies and procedures.
• Pass GWO fitness tests while maintaining body weight under 270 lbs.
• Climb wind towers daily to perform maintenance on turbines.
• Lift, carry, and transport tools and materials to job sites.
• Monitor maintenance contractors and ensure corrective actions.
• Lead or conduct acceptance and performance tests after maintenance or outages.
• Perform safety and wind-farm tasks; back up other sites as needed.
• Perform turbine maintenance (generator bearing, pitch ram, gearbox, shaft bearings) and update software.
• Be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
