Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Tiger Team Technician I for field-based wind farm support in the United States. The role involves bearing exchanges, gearbox and pitch ram work, troubleshooting, and safety exercises, with travel up to 50%.

You will guide the O&M team and help maintain tools, equipment, and records. Applicants should have a high school diploma, relevant wind/technical experience, and a willingness to relocate within an hour’s drive of the site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2- or 4-year college degree in technical science (engineering, physics, power) or journeyman/master electrician license.
• Unrestricted driver license in good standing; willingness to relocate within 1 hour drive of site.
• Global Wind Organization Certificate preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of wind, solar, and BESS experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure activities are performed safely per site policies and procedures.
• Pass physical fitness tests to maintain GWO certification; keep weight under 270 lbs.
• Climb wind towers daily; access turbines to perform maintenance tasks.
• Lift, carry, and transport tools and materials to job site.
• Monitor maintenance contractors; ensure corrective actions when needed.
• Lead or conduct tests on systems after maintenance or outages.
• Perform turbine maintenance and software updates as required.
