Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to manage onsite operations, maintenance, and repairs at a wind-powered generation plant. The role leads in plant operations per the Plant Manager and requires readiness for variable shifts and travel as needed.

You will operate wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure, read schematics, troubleshoot complex problems, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety programs.

Qualifications

• 1 year college or technical certificate or wind industry training.
• Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment.
• Advanced computer skills for word processing, spreadsheets, and reporting systems.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily.
• Able to lift 60–100 pounds.
• Knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
• Demonstrated teamwork and positive attitude.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems.
• Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components per OEM requirements.
• Comply with environmental health and safety programs.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals.
• Adhere to internal controls and data collection for reporting.
• Perform retrofits and design modifications as needed.
• Support Construction in mechanical and commissioning walk-downs.
