Job summary

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician for our Kensett, IA site to operate, maintain, repair, and replace equipment at a wind-powered plant. The role leads plant operations as directed by the Plant Manager and requires travel to other sites as needed, with on-call duties and overtime possible.

Responsibilities include reading schematics, troubleshooting complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems, and performing mechanical/electrical repairs per OEM manuals.

Qualifications

• One year college or technical school certificate; or 12 months of related experience; wind industry training.
• Able to read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to climb towers up to 100 meters daily for maintenance in nacelle/hub.
• Advanced computer skills for reporting, diagnostics, and controls.
• Familiarity with PPE, safety regs, and environmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain wind turbine equipment and related infrastructure.
• Perform preventive maintenance per OEM manuals and project requirements.
• Read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
• Ensure QA/QC, safety compliance, and accurate reporting.
