Job summary

Vestas is seeking a remote, hourly Repair Technician II to travel nationwide and perform major component exchanges on wind turbines. You will lead or support gearbox and generator repairs, with opportunities to grow technical skills through comprehensive training, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance across sites.

The role offers significant travel, overtime, and the potential for strong earnings, including a $2,500 sign-on bonus, with BTT/GWO certifications valued.

Qualifications

• Safety is the top priority; follow protocols and proactively identify hazards.
• 1+ year wind technician experience, or 6 months with Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years transferable mechanical/electrical/hydraulic experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and performing major repairs on turbine platforms.
• Willingness to travel 100% and work in varied site conditions.
• High school diploma and valid driver’s license; legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• English language proficiency (read/speak).

Responsibilities

• Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes, generators, and other critical systems.
• Execute maintenance, minor to medium repairs, design modifications, retrofits, and special projects per procedures.
• Travel extensively to support turbine operations across the region.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain a secure working environment.
