Job summary

Vestas is seeking a Repair Technician II for a remote, travel-heavy role in the South region. You will lead or support major component exchanges on wind turbines, focusing on gearboxes, generators, and retrofits to maximize uptime.

You will travel 100% with overtime, earn a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and benefit from training and safety certifications. Applicants should have wind technician experience, a high school diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work in English.

Qualifications

• Safety-first mindset and adherence to protocols.
• Preferred wind turbine experience with hands‑on MCE work.
• Minimum one year wind technician experience, or six months with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience.
• Proven troubleshooting and major repair experience on various platforms.
• Willingness to travel 100% and work in varied site conditions.
• Collaborative, solution-oriented team player.
• Physically fit and able to work at heights.
• English reading/writing and speaking proficiency.
• High school diploma or equivalent with valid driver’s license and work authorization in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety for all; perform risk assessments and protective measures.
• Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes and generators.
• Execute maintenance, repairs, and retrofits following procedures.
• Travel extensively to support turbine operations across sites.
• Collaborate with teams for safe, efficient, high-quality work.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain a secure working environment.
