Job summary

Vestas in the United States is seeking a Repair Technician II for a remote, hourly role requiring full travel across the South region. You’ll lead or support major component exchanges on wind turbines, including gearboxes and generators, performing safety-focused maintenance to minimize downtime.

This position offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus and opportunities to grow technical skills through GWO-style training, safety certifications, and hands-on project work across varied sites.

Qualifications

• Must have wind technician experience or equivalent mechanical/electrical background.
• Commitment to safety protocols and risk assessment in field settings.
• Ability to travel 100% and work across diverse turbine sites.
• English reading/writing and clear instructions adherence required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety first, perform risk assessments and follow protocols.
• Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes and generators.
• Conduct maintenance, repairs, retrofits, and project work per procedures.
• Travel extensively to support turbine operations across sites.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient work and inspections.
• Provide safety inspections and maintain secure working environments.
• Offer exposure to multiple turbine platforms and sites for growth.
