Job summary

Vestas is seeking a remote, hourly Repair Technician II with 100% travel across the South region. The role offers a $2,500 sign-on bonus and a base pay range of $28.25–$33.43 per hour, with additional variable compensation opportunities.

Ideal candidates will have wind technician experience, MCE exposure, and a strong safety mindset. You must be comfortable with extensive travel, heights, and a variety of turbine platforms while supporting safe, high-quality repairs.

Qualifications

• Preferred wind turbine experience with hands-on MCE work.
• Minimum one year of wind technician experience, or six months wind technician experience with a Wind Technician certificate/education, or 2 years of transferrable mechanical, electrical, and/or hydraulic experience.
• Proven expertise in troubleshooting and executing major repairs on various platforms.
• Comfortable with 100% travel and working in varied site conditions.
• A collaborative technician who thrives on solving complex challenges.
• Physically fit, comfortable working in various conditions, and at heights.
• Ability to speak, read and follow instructions in English.
• You have a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver’s license, and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the top priority with risk assessments and protective measures.
• Perform major component exchanges including gearboxes and generators.
• Execute maintenance and repairs, retrofits, and design modifications following procedures.
• Travel extensively to support turbine operations across sites.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure safe, efficient, high-quality work.
• Conduct safety inspections and ensure a secure working environment.
• Expose yourself to a wide range of turbine platforms and environments.
