Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking an Associate, Project Development to support and manage renewable energy projects across the West region. You will work with multiple teams through the full lifecycle from origination to commissioning, including siting, permitting, interconnection, contracting, and financing.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years in U.S. renewable energy development, strong knowledge of land use and regulatory pathways, and the ability to travel >25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in engineering, business, economics, finance, environmental science, or related field.
• 2+ years of renewable energy industry experience in the U.S. with full life-cycle development of utility-scale solar/wind projects.
• Experience with land development: landowner engagement, title resolution, GIS, and related real estate elements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support the development of complex renewable energy projects from proposal to handover to construction.
• Identify and implement approaches that reduce permitting risks and optimize development schedules.
• Support due diligence on development-stage projects and portfolio acquisitions.
• Coordinate with local/regional development partners and manage a network of stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Land Acquisition to secure site control for generation and interconnection.
• Work with engineering to evaluate site layouts, technology options, and interconnection studies.
• Coordinate interconnection requests, load-flow/congestion studies, and related transmission tasks.
• Support negotiation and diligence of PPAs, GIAs, Turbine Supply Agreements, and EPC contracts.
• Assist financing diligence for cash equity, tax equity, and project debt commitments.
• Coordinate with Origination on marketing and RFP responses.
• Create and manage project budgets and schedules; participate in stage-gate reviews and investment decisions.
• Prepare materials describing development opportunities for management; maintain market knowledge and industry relationships.
