Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking an Associate, Project Development to support and directly manage the development of a West Coast project portfolio, spanning California, Hawaii, and the Desert Southwest. You will work with multiple teams across the full lifecycle from origination to commissioning, helping to secure interconnection, permits, and financing.

The role requires 2+ years in U.S. renewable project development, knowledge of CAISO/WECC markets, and the ability to travel (>25%).

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, finance, environmental science, or related field is required.
• 2+ years of renewable energy development experience in the U.S. with full project life-cycle exposure.
• Experience with land, permitting, interconnection, and contracting throughout development.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support development of large-scale renewable projects from proposal to handover to construction.
• Identify and implement approaches to reduce permitting risks and optimize schedules.
• Support due diligence on development projects and portfolio acquisitions.
• Administer development services agreements and manage local stakeholders.
• Collaborate on land campaigns to secure site control for interconnection facilities.
• Coordinate with engineering and external consultants on layouts, options, and studies.
• Support interconnection requests, load-flow studies, and transmission planning.
• Assist in negotiation of PPAs, GIAs, turbine supply, and EPC contracts.
• Support financing diligence for cash equity, tax equity, and debt commitments.
• Coordinate with Origination on marketing and responses to RFPs.
• Create and manage project budgets and stage-gate reviews.
