Job summary

Clearway Energy Group is seeking an Associate, Project Development to support and manage renewable energy project development across its West Region, including California, Hawaii, and the Desert Southwest. The role collaborates with Business Development, Origination, Engineering, Project Finance, and Construction teams from siting to commissioning.

You will work on siting, permitting, interconnection, design, contracting, and financing efforts; travel (>25%) is expected and experience with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and relevant experience in renewable energy project development.
• Experience navigating permitting pathways for energy projects in the western United States.
• Travel to projects within Clearway’s West Region (>25%).
• Minimum of 2 years of U.S. renewable energy development experience (solar/wind).
• Experience with land development, ALTA surveys, GIS, and related real estate elements.
• Experience managing project schedules and budgets and understanding value levers.

Responsibilities

• Manage and support development of complex renewable energy projects from siting through to commissioning.
• Identify and implement approaches to reduce permitting risks and add project value.
• Support due diligence on development-stage projects and portfolio acquisitions.
• Administer development services agreements and coordinate local project stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Land Acquisition, engineering, and external consultants on site layouts and interconnection studies.
• Coordinate interconnection requests, load-flow studies, and transmission considerations.
• Assist in contracting and financing diligence to secure cash equity, tax equity, or project debt.
• Support Origination in marketing development-stage projects and responding to RFPs.
• Create and manage project budgets and schedules and prepare management materials.
• Maintain industry contacts and knowledge of market drivers for proactive development.
