Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine in West Chester invites energetic individuals to support members in the fitness center, deliver orientations, and help maintain a safe, clean facility. You will wear staff shirt and nametag, assist with workouts, and provide courteous service during operating hours.

Requirements include being 18+, strong communication, knowledge of basic exercise principles, and the ability to obtain new hire certifications within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Knowledge and/or experience in basic exercise principles required.
• Obtain and maintain all additional new hire certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Wellness Center Orientations based on branch guidelines and provide assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous and professional manner.
• Members working out in the Fitness Center will be acknowledged by staff and staff will be identifiable by staff shirt and nametag.
• Maintain Fitness Center staffed 100% during operating hours and ensure facility and equipment are clean.
• Follow YMCA policies and standard operating procedures; report equipment issues and assist with special events and open houses.
• Encourage members to stay active and live a healthy lifestyle; provide advice and spotting as needed.
