Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine seeks an experienced trainer to develop and conduct specialized training sessions and contribute to the growth of our programming for YMCA members. You will lead classes, promote healthy lifestyles, and ensure safety and organization within the program.

The role requires strong teaching ability, advanced knowledge in a specialty area, and the ability to manage program records and staff schedules while adhering to YMCA policies.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of advanced experience in the specialty field or pursuing advanced education in a related field.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Experience teaching a minimum of 4 years in the specialized area.
  • Obtain and maintain all new hires certifications and trainings within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts class sessions as scheduled and provides assistance in a safe, enthusiastic, thorough, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Leads program with enthusiasm and positive motivation.
  • Promotes and exhibits a healthy attitude, lifestyle, and appearance.
  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge and ability to demonstrate skills necessary for the specialty field.
  • Organizes and maintains program records (attendance, rosters, etc.).
  • Manages all equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and risk-free environment.
  • Communicates effectively with program participants and parents; before the start of class, answers questions and assists participants.
  • Ensures all children are picked up by a parent.
  • Promotes other YMCA programs by sharing information or referring inquiries.
  • Creates staff schedules and communicates with staff.
  • Ensures compliance with YGBW policies and SOPs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
