Job summary

YMCA of Greater Brandywine is seeking a Group Exercise Coordinator to lead and develop innovative classes in alignment with wellness guidance. You will collaborate with the Wellness Director and Senior Association Director of Wellness Programming to create welcoming, inclusive experiences for all participants.

You will manage class schedules, mentor instructors, monitor safety, and promote a healthy lifestyle through engaging programs and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three years of experience teaching group exercise classes.
  • Hold at least one nationally accredited Group Exercise certification.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct group exercise classes in a safe, enthusiastic, and professional manner.
  • Greet participants, learn their names, and foster a sense of community.
  • Adapt classes to participants' limitations and provide modifications when necessary.
  • Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate all group exercise instructors.
  • Oversee and evaluate the effectiveness of group exercise programming.
  • Maintain positive written and oral communication with staff and members.
  • Instruct fitness classes regularly and serve as a substitute when necessary.
  • Purchase and maintain fitness equipment to ensure safety standards.
  • Develop, manage, and evaluate the department budget to meet goals.

Embark on a Journey of Impactful AdventureThe Group Exercise Coordinator is responsible for leading, coordinating, and developing innovative group exercise programs in alignment with the guidelines set by the YMCA of Greater Brandywine in collaboration with the Wellness Director and the Senior Association Director of Wellness Programming.
