Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Welding Process Specialist in Greenville, NC. You will visit internal field plants and client sites to evaluate welding processes, identify bottlenecks, and suggest safer techniques and advanced technologies that improve efficiency and safety.

This role blends advanced technical support and sales, focusing on welding practices, CNC cutting systems, robotic welding, and plasma/laser integration. You will mentor the team and train customers onsite to upskill their workforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent years of welding experience.
• Five or more years in B2B or specialized sales.
• Reliable transportation and current driver’s license.
• Advance the Airgas Advanced Fabrication Sales Methodology to grow capital equipment, robotics, and automation solutions.
• Provide knowledge on CNC cutting, robotic welding, and plasma/laser integration.
• Mentor the wider Sales team; provide onsite product and application training.
• Coordinate installation and servicing of fixed and robotic automation projects.
• Report market trends, industry activities, and customer needs to remain a trusted leader.

Responsibilities

• Visit internal field plants and external client sites to evaluate existing welding processes.
• Identify bottlenecks, suggest safer techniques, and propose advanced technologies.
• Evaluate customer welding/cutting practices and conduct Weld Surveys and Efficiency Analyses.
• Advance the Airgas Advanced Fabrication Sales Methodology to grow capital equipment, robotics, and automation solutions.
• Provide knowledgeable support on CNC cutting systems, robotic welding systems, and plasma/laser integration.
• Act as a mentor to the Welding Specialist team and provide onsite training for customers.
• Coordinate installation and servicing of fixed and robotic automation projects.
• Collect and report on market trends and customer needs to keep Airgas as a trusted reference.
