Job summary

Airgas is hiring a Welding Process Specialist in Milwaukee, WI or Elk Grove Village, IL. The role focuses on evaluating welding processes, proposing improvements, and aligning high-level welding engineering with operations.

Expect to travel to client sites and internal plants to drive safer, more efficient practices. The position offers base pay of 90k–100k with bonus, plus auto allowance and mileage reimbursement, and a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) with company match, tuition

Qualifications

• Requires reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
• Experience evaluating welding/cutting practices and performing weld surveys/efficiency analyses.
• Ability to advance fabrication sales methodologies and drive capital equipment growth.
• Provide knowledgeable support on CNC cutting, robotic welding, and plasma/laser integration.
• Mentor Welding Specialist team; provide onsite training.
• Coordinate installation and servicing of fixed and robotic automation projects.
• Collect and report market trends and customer needs to keep Airgas as a leader.

Responsibilities

• Visit internal field plants and client sites to evaluate welding processes.
• Identify bottlenecks from an operational lens to improve safety and efficiency.
• Propose advanced technologies to enhance productivity and safety.
• Support Airgas Advanced Fabrication Sales Methodology for capital equipment growth.
• Provide on-site product and application training to customers.
