Job summary

The Pivot Group Network collaborates with Mattawan-area manufacturers to identify top Welding Engineer talent. This role focuses on developing and qualifying welding procedures, supporting production, and driving process improvements to meet quality and cost targets.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 3+ years in welding in manufacturing, and strong knowledge of metallurgy, welding symbols, and NDT methods. Robotic welding experience and CAD/CAM skills are a plus.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
3+ years of welding processes experience in a manufacturing environment (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW).
Strong understanding of metallurgy and material science in welding contexts.
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.

Responsibilities

Develop and qualify welding procedures (WPS/PQR) per codes and standards.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for welding processes on the production floor.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize welding for quality, cost, and efficiency.
Conduct root cause analysis of welding defects and implement corrective actions.
Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure weldability and manufacturability of new products.
Perform metallurgical analysis of welds and base materials to assess integrity and performance.
Develop and deliver training programs for welders and plant personnel.
