Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Spartanburg, SC is seeking a Weld Technician to support automated welding cells on a 2nd shift (1:00 PM - 9:00 PM, M-F). You will perform setup, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, while mentoring trainees and ensuring safety. Strong English, weld tech training, and tool proficiency are required.

You will work in a plant that values ESOP ownership and teamwork, contributing to the production of complex metal assemblies for the automotive industry.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of Weld Tech curriculum or equivalent training.
• Ability to read, write and understand English to perform duties safely.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications is preferred.
• Passport to operate weld robotics and teach pendant navigation is valued.
• Probationary/trainee program completion may be required for Weld Tech.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures while servicing or maintaining equipment.
• Mentor and support Weld Technician trainees.
• Machine cleaning and upkeep of weld cells.
• Use hand measurement tools accurately.
• Operate multimeter and perform basic electrical checks.
• Perform weld tip/cap changes and gun maintenance.
• Change over stationary welders and automate cell transitions.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on fixtures and cells.
• Run Red Rabbit process and troubleshoot sensor issues.
• Understand welding processes and basic fixture adjustments.
