Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Spartanburg, SC, is seeking a Weld Technician to perform setup, troubleshooting, and operations of automated welding cells. You will implement best practices, maintain equipment, and mentor trainees.

We value safety, ownership, and teamwork, with ESOP participation and strong relocation into a large employee-owned automotive supplier. The role requires 3rd shift availability and a high school diploma.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to safely perform duties.
• Industrial truck and aerial platform licenses are required.
• Excellent verbal communication skills are essential.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Weld Tech curriculum completion and trainee period are preferred.
• Probationary period and qualification card required.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures while servicing or maintaining equipment.
• Mentor Weld Technician trainees and support the team.
• Machine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance of fixtures and cells.
• Understand and use hand measurement tools and a Multimeter.
• Perform weld tip/cap changes and gun maintenance.
• Manage changeovers of stationary and automated welding cells.
• Operate and troubleshoot red rabbit process and sensor issues.
• Perform welding technology troubleshooting (GMAW, resistance spot welding).
• Maintain documentation and locate parts using Plex.
