Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Spartanburg, SC is seeking an experienced welder for the 3rd shift (9:30 PM–5:30 AM, Sunday–Thursday). You will repair sheet metal parts, weld with MIG/TIG, and ensure safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities include calibrating equipment, maintaining tools, following safety procedures, tagging parts, moving parts, participating in root-cause problem solving, and using Plexus ERP for documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years in relevant work experience.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to safely perform duties.
• Certified in mig and/or tig welding.
• Strong ownership, reliability, and honesty in performance.
• Self-motivated with ability to prioritize tasks and resolve conflicts.
• Willingness to adapt to changes and communicate effectively.
• Understand PPE, ventilation, and fire safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate a MIG welding machine to join or repair sheet metal parts.
• Calibrate welding equipment and maintain tools.
• Perform work safely following procedures and standards.
• Tag parts and move them to correct locations in the plant.
• Support preventative actions and continuous improvement activities.
• Utilize Plexus ERP for documentation and data collection.
• Maintain welding equipment and conduct housekeeping in work area.
• Replace fastened panels on vehicles and perform mechanical repairs.
• Contribute to root cause problem solving with teams.
