Challenge manufacturing seeks skilled technicians to support production by setting up and maintaining automated welding cells in our Cusseta, AL plant. You will troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and assist with robot programming touch-ups, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role requires hands-on welding experience, use of hand tools, and proficiency with Plex; this position operates on 1st shift (6:00 AM - 4:00 PM, M-F).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with welding and robotic cells.
• Familiarity with Plex ERP system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures while servicing or maintaining equipment.
• Mentor and support Weld Technician trainees.
• Perform weld tip/cap changes and gun maintenance.
• Perform preventative maintenance on fixtures and cells.
• Operate and troubleshoot robotic welding cells and related equipment.
• Use Plex to locate parts, manage work orders, and access setup documentation.
• Perform cell changeovers and ensure proper setup of automated cells.
• Troubleshoot sensors and adjust as needed during operation.
• Basic welding tech troubleshooting including resistance, GMAW, and fixture inspection.
• Touch up programmed robotic points as required.
