Job summary

G&W Electric seeks an experienced Welder II to join its manufacturing team in Illinois. You will perform MIG and TIG welds on subassemblies, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet quality standards.

The role requires 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment, plus the ability to interpret drawings and BOMs, and to train others in welding methods. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of formal welding training or the equivalent.
• Three years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to perform Mig and Tig welding in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Weld and assemble subassemblies and assemblies using MIG/TIG welding.
• Set up and regulate oxyacetylene torch; adjust current and voltage for proper fusion.
• Read drawings and BOMs to ensure accuracy.
• Train others on proper welding procedures and techniques as needed.
• Inspect finished work and document results; maintain safety and cleanliness.
