Job summary

G&W Electric in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking a Welder I to set up and operate welding equipment and atmospheric control to weld a variety of metals and alloys for subassemblies requiring high strength, pressure resistance and aesthetics.

You will read drawings, select electrodes, monitor gas, perform Mig/Tig welding, maintain tools, and document work while ensuring safety and quality. HS diploma and 1 year welding experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• At least one year of formal welding training or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Must safely use small hand and power tools and welding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, align, square up and tack weld subassemblies using fixtures and templates.
• Set up, regulate gas, current and voltage for welding and atmospheric control.
• Perform Mig/Tig welding as required and inspect work before passing to the next operation.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and document actions per procedures.
• Train others in welding tasks as needed and support continuous improvement.
