Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Welder II to join our on-site manufacturing team in Bolingbrook, IL. The role covers MIG/TIG welding, assembly, alignment and inspection of complex subassemblies using a range of equipment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, plus welding training and at least three years of manufacturing welding experience. Pay ranges from $28 to $31 per hour with shift differential.

Qualifications

• Holds a High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Has at least one year of formal welding training or the equivalent level of experience.
• Has 3 years of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to safety use small hand and power tools, measuring tools and welding equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must be able to perform Mig and Tig welding in various positions.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, align, square up, fit, stiffen and tack weld subassemblies and assemblies.
• Fit parts using torch or arc or hand grinding equipment to align components.
• Set up and regulate pressure for oxyacetylene torch.
• Select electrode size and type, tips and welding rod or wire as required.
• Regulate gas, current and voltage for proper penetration and fusion.
• Inspect work and ensure it meets requirements before passing to next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Train others on welding procedures and techniques.
